The treatment may be considered for selected forms of visible sun-related pigmentation, uneven tone and photodamage. Suitability depends on the type of pigmentation and individual skin characteristics.

Is 1927 nm or 1550 nm used for pigmentation?

The 1927 nm wavelength is particularly relevant to more superficial concerns including visible pigmentation and photodamage. The 1550 nm wavelength works more deeply and may be selected when texture and deeper fractional remodelling are also treatment objectives.

Can both wavelengths be used?

Depending on the indication and treatment plan, the wavelengths can form part of a personalised approach. The treatment protocol is determined following assessment.

How many treatments will I need?

There is no universal number. The treatment plan depends on the type and extent of pigmentation, skin condition, desired outcome and response to treatment.

When will I see results?

Skin changes develop progressively during the weeks following treatment. Pigmentation and overall skin quality may continue to evolve as the skin renews.

Temporary redness, warmth, dryness or a roughened appearance can occur after fractional laser treatment. Pigmented areas may temporarily appear darker before gradually changing as the skin renews. Downtime varies according to treatment intensity and individual response.

Can pigmentation return?

Yes. Laser treatment cannot prevent future UV exposure or the biological processes that contribute to pigmentation. Appropriate sun protection and a suitable skincare routine are important for maintaining results.

Can every brown spot be treated?

No. Pigmented lesions should be appropriately assessed before aesthetic laser treatment. Suspicious or uncertain lesions require medical evaluation rather than cosmetic laser treatment.
